Malleable cast iron is also called malleable steel. Because the carbon content is higher than that of cast steel, it has better casting properties than cast steel. After heat treatment, the strength and toughness can be similar to the corresponding cast steel. Malleable cast iron has the following advantages:

* Has high elasticity, elongation is 6-12%;

* With high toughness, the impact toughness of unnotched samples can reach 100~137KJ/m3;
