Methyl tin mercaptide, an organotin stabilizer belonging to the same category as butyl tin and octyl tin variants, is a transparent, viscous liquid with excellent compatibility in PVC formulations. It serves as a key stabilizer during the thermal processing of PVC, delivering outstanding initial and long-term thermal stability, high product clarity, and superior weatherability compared to other metal-based heat stabilizers. 

Additionally, it exhibits strong compatibility with a wide range of additives and weakly polar oils, including C8–C12 fatty alcohols, fatty acids, phosphite esters, and mineral oils.

This compound is non-flammable and remains in a viscous liquid state even at temperatures as low as -20°C due to its low freezing point. Owing to its straightforward manufacturing process and cost efficiency, methyl tin mercaptide is considered one of the most promising organotin stabilizers suitable for various PVC processing techniques such as extrusion, calendering, blow molding, and injection molding.
