1. Trench excavation should adhere strictly to established standards.
To prevent pipeline placement in permafrost, the trench depth must be determined by local data. Proper backfill is crucial to ensure that pipelines and interfaces remain intact by avoiding cracks from bending stress. Ensure the backfill allows for effective tamping and operation:
(1) Trench alignment should be straight. The trench's bottom width should exceed the pipe's outer diameter by at least 0.5m, with an overall width no less than 0.7m.
(2) Carefully regulate the trench's depth-neither too deep nor too shallow. If gravel is too deep, backfill and compact to the desired depth. Encountering hard soil or obstacles like stones may lead to trench curvature, insufficient depth, and increased construction complexity. This could cause pipes and fittings to bend under stress, risking joint leakage or rupture with rising water supply and pressure.
