I.Marble tilesAre there specific installation requirements or sequences?
1、Install wall tiles first, followed by floor tiles.
The typical order for installing tiles in a home renovation project is to first lay the wall tiles and then the floor tiles. This is because if you install the floor tiles first, it's easy to damage the floor tiles when installing the wall tiles. Therefore, it's generally recommended to install the wall tiles first, followed by the floor tiles, to avoid damaging the floor tiles.
2、First Kitchen, then Living Room
Generally, wall tiles are installed in bathrooms and kitchens first, so the typical order for installing tiles in a house is: first, the wall tiles in the kitchen and bathroom; then, the floor tiles in the kitchen and bathroom; and finally, the floor tiles in the living room and bedrooms.

3、Tile installation on the wall, starting from the inside
However, it is important to ensure that the wall tiles are laid from the inside out to achieve a perfect tile laying effect.
II. Process Flow for Installing Marble Tiles
Marble tiles are a type of tile, and their laying methods and the methods for laying ordinary tiles are not significantly different. The basic laying process involves: substrate preparation, layout, pre-laying, mixing adhesive, applying putty, laying tiles, grouting, and cleaning.
1、Soaking the tiles
Before installation, the selected tiles should be cleaned and immersed in clean water for at least two hours. This allows the tiles to fully absorb water, preventing them from absorbing moisture from other materials during installation, which can affect the installation quality and reduce the occurrence of issues such as voids and edge lifting. After the tiles have absorbed water, they should be removed and the surface should be thoroughly dried before further work.
2、Leveling and Stringing
To ensure the flatness of marble tile flooring installation, it is necessary to establish a level and plumb line before installation. For smaller areas, a transparent tube with a diameter of 10 millimeters can be used. Place one end of the tube firmly against the wall, and the other end at different locations on the wall, moving it back and forth. Mark the stationary position with a marker, then use a plumb bob to draw the corresponding lines on each surface according to the marked positions. For larger areas, a level can be used to establish a level line, and a plumb bob is also needed for marking.
3、Pre-application Stage
based on the provided markings, verify the correct order and positioning of the floor tiles. Arrange the tiles according to their pattern and texture before installation. Ensure that the tiles are properly positioned relative to the walls and any electrical wiring. If the substrate is a rough surface, clean and prepare it before proceeding. If the substrate is a smooth surface, roughen it first before cleaning and applying water.
4、Prepare the adhesive.
Mix ceramic clay with clean water (at a ratio of 1:4). Mechanical mixing is recommended for optimal results. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes to hydrate before use. For added strength, stir again before use. Note: Ceramic tile adhesive must be used within 2 hours. Dried adhesive should be discarded and not reused.
5、 Ready-mixed putty paste
Apply the adhesive mixture using a trowel, ensuring even distribution in a striated pattern. Note: Apply approximately one square meter at a time to prevent the adhesive mixture from drying on the surface. In dry weather, ensure the wall surface is adequately moist.
6、Installing large marble tiles
Apply the back of the brick directly to the substrate, ensuring that the brick's back has deep or heavy grooves. In addition to applying adhesive on the substrate, apply adhesive to the back of the brick as well, especially for bricks with deep or heavy grooves. Align the tiles and maintain a smooth, even surface. The tile adhesive can be adjusted within 20 minutes after application, improving construction efficiency. Initially, check if the brick surface is level and aligned, and ensure that the joints are clean and free of debris.
7、Joint Filling
When filling the grout lines between tiles, avoid mixing and using previously hardened tile adhesive. Also, avoid adding other materials such as cement, as this can negatively affect the results.
8、Cleaning and preparation
Allow at least 15 minutes for the tile adhesive to dry. Clean any excess tile adhesive with a damp cloth. Note that it is not recommended to rinse with water or use acidic cleaning agents at this stage. After 24 hours, thoroughly clean the tiles with a tile cleaner.
