According to national housing quality acceptance standards, if the area of a single exterior wall is less than 5 square meters, the area of any voids shall not exceed 5 square centimeters, and only one void is allowed. If the area of a single exterior wall is 5 square meters or more, the area of each void shall not exceed 5 square centimeters, but two voids are allowed.
Three. How to deal with empty voids in exterior wall bricks.
1、Localized blistering
If there are localized voids in the exterior wall bricks, and the area of the void exceeds 5 square centimeters, we will need to remove the affected brick section, smooth the exterior wall surface, and then re-lay the bricks.
2、Air pockets at corners
If there are voids along the edges, you can use a scraper to open up the tile joints, then mix cement and water and fill the joints. The wall tiles will automatically absorb the cement paste until it is completely filled. Allow it to set before proceeding.
3、Large-scale voids
If large-scale voids appear after bricklaying on the exterior wall, it is possible to request the contractor to redo the entire job, while also ensuring that the construction work complies with all safety regulations. This will help prevent voids from reappearing after the bricks are re-laid.
