One, Four main principles for laying wood brick
1、The orientation of the wood brick tiles should be determined with the door as the reference point.
Generally, when laying long, rectangular wood tiles, the entrance should be used as the reference point, and the direction of laying should be vertical (i.e., from the door inward). This allows for a more visually appealing presentation of the elongated, three-dimensional texture and effect of the wood tiles (except for those with specific design requirements).

2、The orientation of the wood-based panel installation should be based on the longer side.
Another reference for laying wood-effect tiles is the longest side of the space. Laying the wood-effect tiles with the long side parallel to the longest side (i.e., horizontally) is also done to better utilize the long, linear characteristics and aesthetic appeal of the wood-effect tiles.
3、When installing wood-grain tiles on walls, the direction should be carefully considered.
When installing wood-effect tiles on walls, it is recommended to use the tile's dimensions as the standard. For wood-effect tiles with a width of less than 20cm (such as 150*800mm, 150*900mm), it is recommended to install them vertically. For wood-effect tiles with a width of 20cm or more (such as 200*1200mm, 250*1500mm), both vertical and horizontal installation are possible based on initial needs.
4、Principles for laying wood-pannel tiles on a balcony.
If wood-effect tiles are used in the living room and laid in a direction that follows the entrance, it is recommended to lay the wood-effect tiles on the balcony in a direction that is opposite to the living room, creating a separate tiling effect. This arrangement is preferable to laying the tiles parallel to the balcony door.
Two. The preferred direction for laying wood-effect tiles should be avoided.
1、The laying direction of wood brick tiles is related to Feng Shui principles. Feng Shui emphasizes balance, avoiding conflicts between different elements within a space. As we know, most wood brick tiles are long and rectangular, and when laid, they form straight lines along the longer edges, while the shorter edges create a staggered pattern. Therefore, from a Feng Shui perspective, a straight line formed by the longer edge already disrupts the pattern. If the midpoint of a door aligns with the seam along the longer edge, it is considered undesirable. Consequently, the typical laying direction for wood brick tiles is parallel to the door, meaning that the horizontal edge is visible when entering the room.
2. Generally, wood-effect tiles should be laid with the vertical pattern facing inwards. This means that when you stand at the doorway and open the door, you should see the vertical wood-effect pattern. This can enhance the sense of depth and flow when entering the room. This laying method is also relatively smooth.
