One. Reasons for cracking in wood-plastic composite tiles.
1、Multiple locations and irregular cracks
Generally, it is unlikely that every area of a building's floor has issues. The difference in compressive strength between batches of wood-effect tiles is also typically not significant. Therefore, if wood-effect tiles exhibit irregular cracks in multiple locations, this is usually due to improper installation.
2、Regular cracks
If there are regular horizontal, vertical, or diagonal cracks on the surface of the floor, this usually indicates that the substrate preparation was not properly done.

3、Cracking
If wood-plastic bricks develop cracks due to quality issues, they often exhibit a crack pattern similar to a turtle shell.
4、Linear Cracks
High cement content, and inconsistent expansion coefficients between cement mortar and ceramic tiles cause wood brick deformation and cracking. These cracks typically appear in a linear pattern with varying lengths.
Two. Repairing cracks in wood-based panels.
1、Use ready-mixed putty paste to repair.
To repair obvious cracks, you can use tile grout. It can produce a visual effect almost identical to that of wood-effect tiles, and it is available in a variety of colors and is hard and durable.
2、To repair impact damage
The wood brick surface damaged by hard objects can be reinforced with cloud stone glue and hardener, then colored putty powder can be mixed to match the original color and filled into the gaps. After hardening, the surface can be polished and smoothed. However, this method may result in varying degrees of color difference.
3. Use toothpaste to repair drilled cracks.
Cracks or small fissures caused by drilling can be repaired using toothpaste. Gently apply toothpaste to the cracks, using your hands to spread it evenly. Remove any excess toothpaste, and once it has dried, the wood brick will appear as new.
Please note that wood veneer surfaces typically come in a variety of colors. Therefore, it is necessary to mix water-based paint with toothpaste to achieve a similar color and then apply it to fill in the gaps.
4、For larger cracks, replacing only the affected wood bricks is sufficient.
If wood-based panels exhibit significant cracks, it is recommended to replace the old panels directly. It is best to have a professional contractor perform the work, and caution should be exercised when cutting the panels. After completing the repair work, pay attention to cleaning and moisturizing the substrate. When repairing wood-based panels, it is advisable to moisten the surface with water to ensure good adhesion. Whether using cement or specialized tile adhesive, it is necessary to apply it evenly and thoroughly, ensuring that the adjacent wood-based panels maintain proper level, right angles, and a smooth surface. Finally, clean the surface of the wood-based panels.
