I.Solid brickDoes it require soaking?
The entire bricks require soaking in water. Due to the numerous fine pores present in entire bricks, regardless of their quality, they have a certain degree of water absorption. If not soaked or if the soaking is insufficient, directly applying them will cause the entire bricks to absorb water from the cement, creating gaps between the entire bricks and the cement, weakening the bond, and leading to issues such as air pockets and tile detachment. When soaking the entire bricks, it is essential to ensure that the entire bricks are completely submerged in water for approximately 30 minutes.

Two. Why do some bricks need to be soaked in water, while others do not?
1、The primary reason for soaking tiles is to prevent them from absorbing water from the cement mortar, which can lead to tile blistering, detachment, and even cracking. This is particularly important when tiling walls, as wetting the surface before installation is necessary.
Ceramic tiles inherently have some porosity. Soaking them beforehand allows their pores to fully absorb water, which reduces their water absorption rate when laid.
2. Whether tiles need to be soaked depends on the tile's water absorption rate. If the tile's water absorption rate is below 0.5%, soaking is not necessary when laying. Generally, glazed tiles used in kitchens and bathrooms have a water absorption rate of around 10%, and soaking is required before laying. Immerse all tiles in water until no more bubbles appear. The soaking time also depends on the weather. In hot weather, a longer soaking time is required.
