One. How to construct glass brick wall application
1. Thoroughly clean the wall surface, removing dust, release agents, and other materials. Moisten the surface before application. When applying glass tile adhesive with the thin-layer method, use a notched trowel to spread the adhesive evenly on the back of the glass tiles.
2、Glass bricks have low water absorption, eliminating the need for pre-wetting. Place the glass bricks on the wall, laying them from bottom to top. Using a horizontal laying method, extend the laying outwards from inside to outside. Gently press on the surface of the glass bricks to ensure a strong bond between the bricks and the adhesive and substrate, and to remove any excess air. When laying the tiles, leave gaps for subsequent jointing.
3. After application, allow the putty powder to dry for 24 hours, then clean the back of the tiles before proceeding with further grouting. Select a grout or self-leveling grout to fill the joints. Begin grouting from the diagonal corners of the tiles, thoroughly pressing the grout into the tile joints, and then smooth the surface.
4、After the tiles and grout have fully bonded, use a damp sponge to wipe the tile and grout surfaces, removing any excess tile adhesive or grout.
Two. How to install glass bricks on the floor
1、Leveling and Marking: To ensure the flatness of the glass brick laying, it is necessary to level and mark the substrate before laying. For small areas, a transparent tube with a diameter of 10mm can be used directly. Place one end of the tube firmly against the wall, and the other end at different locations on the wall, moving it back and forth. When it stops, mark the position, and then use a marking gauge to draw corresponding lines on each surface according to the markings. For larger areas, a level can be used for leveling, and a marking gauge should also be used for marking.
2、Pre-laying Stage: According to the string marking, confirm the laying sequence and position of the glass bricks. Lay the tiles in the correct order according to their pattern and texture. At the same time, ensure the relative position of the flooring tiles and the wall, as well as the electrical wiring. If the floor is a rough surface, clean the substrate, then moisten the floor with water. If the floor is a smooth surface, first roughen it, then clean and moisten.
3、Install Glass Bricks: Place the prepared glass bricks directly according to the pre-determined positions.
Three. important considerations for laying tempered bricks.
1. Before application, please verify that the product type, grade, size, and color specified on the packaging of the glass brick are consistent. If you find any discrepancies in the product quality, please contact the manufacturer or distributor immediately. once applied, it becomes difficult to distinguish.
2. For patterns with distinct floral designs, ensure that the floral patterns are laid in a consistent direction. For patterns with unclear or no patterns, follow the required installation based on the construction effect.
3. After the installation of glass bricks is complete, promptly remove any remaining cement stains on the bricks. The newly installed floor/wall surface requires a 4-5 day curing period to prevent unevenness caused by external forces.
4. Check if the surface of the fusible bricks has been previously coated with wax. If not, the bricks must be re-coated before installation. To determine if wax has been applied, look for a layer of waxy material on the brick surface. The brick surface will appear hazy, and when touched, will leave a clear fingerprint.
