One. Can glossy bricks be applied to walls?

Matte tiles can be applied to walls. Using matte tiles to cover the walls of the living room offers the following benefits:

1、Matte bricks used for wall decoration do not cause glare and will not irritate the eyes. Compared to polished bricks, matte bricks provide a more comfortable visual experience and have a simple, understated feel.

2、Matte bricks may seem difficult to maintain, but in reality, they are very easy to clean and care for. You don't need to worry about surface scratches affecting their appearance.

3、The color variations and rich designs of matte bricks offer a wide range of options, and their complete specifications make it easier to achieve a unique and decorative effect when used on walls.

3、The matte finish tiles require a higher firing temperature than glossy tiles, making them non-porous and resistant to staining. This eliminates the risk of dirt and stains penetrating the tile surface during cleaning.

Two. How to construct a matte brick wall surface

1、Substrate preparation

Maintain a smooth surface. For uneven areas, use cement mortar mixed with water in a 1:3 ratio to level the surface. Use a wire brush to remove any remaining dust, oil, and mortar residue.

2、Determine elevation and mark the lines.

According to the established level lines and design drawings, mark the desired elevation, then draw a cross line while maintaining the vertical alignment between the wall and the ground.

3、Pre-application

based on the design requirements, carefully select the color, texture, and other specifications of the matte bricks. Then, perform pre-application. Adjust and replace any textures, dimensions, or color variations that may occur during the pre-application process, until the optimal effect is achieved.

4、Mortar application

Applying the tiles: Use a 1:3 ratio of dry cement and sand mortar, with a thickness of approximately 2cm. Before laying, slightly dampen the back of the tiles, and keep the front dry. Gently place the tiles on the mortar, and lightly tap the tile surface with a hammer until it is firmly and evenly attached.

5、Filling and smoothing the joint

After 24 hours of applying the bricks, perform the joint filling. Use the same type of cement mortar or a dedicated joint filler to fill the gaps, ensuring the smooth bricks are tightly sealed. Finally, wipe away any excess cement or joint filler.
