On June 23, 2021, BASF and Shanghai Harvest Insulation Engineering Co., Ltd. signed a joint development agreement (JDA) to jointly develop BASF's Elastopor rigid polyurethane foam system.®Cryo is used for deep-freeze prefabricated insulated pipes. According to this agreement, BASF will conduct product development and testing in its laboratory and technical service, while Haweist will be responsible for the design and production of the prefabricated pipes.

"In addition, BASF's Elastopor Cryo solution will provide better fire protection for pipe insulation, with an oxygen index of ≤30%, while also offering higher strength."In addition to deep-freeze pre-fabricated insulated pipes, Elastopor Cryo can also be used as the core insulation material for low-temperature safety shells, providing durable and maintenance-free insulation performance for the transportation of liquefied gases at extremely low temperatures (-60°C to -163°C).
