One. Are there any issues with scratches on the underfloor heating pipes?
This issue should be addressed in conjunction with the scratches on the water pipes.
1. If the scratches are minor, this is not a significant issue and will not cause leaks. Therefore, replacement is not necessary.
2. If the scratches are severe or you are concerned, you can contact the underfloor heating installer to come to your site and resolve the issue. They have the necessary tools to perform welding. This will prevent future leaks and also increase the durability.
II. How to repair scratches on underfloor heating pipes
If the underfloor heating pipes have significant scratches, they require welding repair.
1、Before hot-melting, the damaged pipes must be vertically cut off using a specialized pipe cutter, and the cut edges must be kept smooth.
2. Before applying the heat-welding, check the cut edges for any burrs and address them promptly. Then, wipe the interior and exterior walls of the underfloor heating pipes with a dry cloth.
3. Prepare the hot-melt adhesive gun and preheat it.
4. Prepare a new pipe of the same brand and model as the damaged pipe. Using a hard pencil, mark the desired length on the heat-fused end of the new pipe.
5. once the hot melt machine is preheated, place the damaged pipe and the new pipe together in the machine and then melt them.
6. After the hot melt is complete, the underfloor heating pipes require a pressure test. They can only be used if there is no leakage.
