Daily ceramic products can be injection molded, and products manufactured using this method not only enable precise control of dimensions but also allow for the creation of complex shapes with detailed features. Furthermore, this molding method offers high production efficiency and relatively low labor costs.
What is the molding process for daily ceramics?
In addition to machine injection molding, daily ceramics can also be formed using hand-pulling techniques. However, hand-pulling is a slower process and requires a high level of skill from the operator, so it is typically only used for the production of high-end daily ceramic products.
III. Daily Ceramic Production Process Flow
The manufacturing processes for different daily ceramic products vary, and the following provides a brief overview of the ceramic cup production process.
1、Molding
According to the design requirements, a mold will be fabricated using gypsum material.
2、Mixing the mortar
After molding the clay, press it into a clay cake, and then extrude it into clay strips.
3、Casting/Shaping
Irregular products are manufactured using injection molding, while products like plates and dishes use pressure molding, and cups and bowls use machine pressing.
4、Attach the handle manually.
Pour the ceramic slurry into the mold, wait for it to solidify, then remove it and repair the handle.
5、Install handle
Attach the handle to the cup body using putty paste. Ensure the handle is securely fastened and does not have any misalignment.
6、Drying
Place the product in a drying chamber and allow the handle connection area to dry.
7、Round the cup opening
Place the cup on a rotating work table and use sandpaper to smooth the rim. Alternatively, place the cup on a rotating abrasive pad and smooth the rim.
8、Water Wash
Wash the polished ceramic cups with clean water to remove any residue.
9、Applying glaze
Adjust the glaze color, and then apply the glaze to the ceramic cup in the following order: inside glaze, rim glaze, handle glaze, and outside glaze.
10、Sweep and inspect
Use a brush to remove dust from the cup surface and discard any defective pieces for rework.
11、Ceramic Tile Installation
After cleaning the dust, place the ceramic cups in the kiln for firing. After firing, remove the ceramic cups and inspect them again. Manually repair any small cracks or imperfections, and then re-fire.
