1.Solid wood bathroom cabinetsWhat are the causes of cracking?
1、The moisture content of solid wood.
If the moisture content of solid wood is not properly controlled, it can lead to cracking, warping, and other quality issues. After the production of solid wood bathroom cabinets, the moisture content and drying stresses of the wood determine whether the furniture's shape and material will change. Therefore, controlling the moisture content of solid wood bathroom cabinets is crucial. The balanced moisture content will not crack or warp due to environmental factors such as sunlight, extreme cold, or extreme heat.

2、Due to weather conditions
The moisture content requirement for solid wood bathroom cabinets is one to two percentage points lower than the average ambient humidity. Due to differences in geographic location, climate conditions vary, which also affects the moisture content requirement for solid wood bathroom cabinets.
For example, the average annual moisture content in the Beijing area is 11.4%, so the moisture content of solid wood bathroom cabinets should be controlled at 9.4% or 10.4%. In the southern regions, the average air moisture content is higher, around 14%, so the moisture content of solid wood bathroom cabinets should ideally be between 12% and 13%. This means that solid wood bathroom cabinets may crack when the temperature and environment change.
3、Caused by improper use
Even the best bathroom cabinets require maintenance. Some individuals neglect the upkeep of their bathroom cabinets, for example, by placing them in a bedroom near a window, exposing them to direct sunlight, or using overly damp towels to clean, or by moving them haphazardly. These actions can damage the cabinet frame and affect its lifespan.
4、Damage during transportation
Regular brands have strict packaging and shipping regulations for bathroom cabinets to minimize damage during transportation. However, occasional bumps are unavoidable, especially due to climate conditions, making the transportation of solid wood furniture a significant challenge. While solid wood bathroom cabinets are more durable, resistant to corrosion, and have a more "robust" texture compared to cabinets made from other materials, they are still susceptible to damage if not properly maintained.
Two. How to repair cracks in custom bathroom cabinets.
If the cracks are not visible to the naked eye and do not have fine cracks, they can be easily repaired by applying 502 adhesive along the cracks and then gently scraping away the excess adhesive with a knife. Please ensure that the knife does not damage the painted surface of the cabinet.
If the cracks are already open and small, the repair process will be slightly more complex. Here, we provide several emergency repair methods. However, the following methods are only for minor cracks. If you encounter significant cracks, please contact a professional for repair.
1、Cut old newspapers and cardboard into small pieces, mix with a small amount of alum and water to form a paste, and carefully embed it into the cracks. Allow it to solidify.
2. Mix white glue with wood shavings thoroughly, apply to the gaps, and after one night, sand smooth with sandpaper.
3. After mixing with paint and pigments, embed the putty powder. If the painted surface is scratched and has exposed the wood underneath, use matching paint or wax crayons to cover the exposed color. Then, apply a thin layer of clear nail polish.
4. If there are white stains on the bathroom cabinet, they can usually be removed by wiping with a cloth dampened with alcohol, cologne, or other cleaning solutions.
5. If cigarette ash or unextinguished matches leave scorch marks on the cabinet finish, use a matchstick or toothpick wrapped with a fine-textured cloth to gently wipe away the marks. Then, apply a thin layer of wax to further diminish the scorch marks.
