I. Differences between putty powder and lime powder
1、The composition of putty powder and lime powder differs.
Putty powder is a ready-mixed product composed of materials such as double-flight powder (heavy calcium powder, light calcium powder), cellulose, and adhesive powder. Lime powder is a white powdery material primarily composed of calcium carbonate, obtained by burning limestone and reacting it with water, and can be used directly after adding water, but it is more prone to cracking and powder detachment.

2、Lime powder and putty powder have different applications.
Lime powder is used for filling gaps, patching holes, and corners, has relatively coarse particles, and becomes hard and difficult to sand after setting. In contrast, putty powder is primarily used as a base coat; it sets slowly, has a soft texture after setting, and can be easily sanded. It is an excellent base material.
Two, which is better: putty powder or lime powder?
Putty powder, suitable for fine leveling of interior dry walls, ceilings, and concrete mortar-based substrates; the product is environmentally friendly, has strong adhesion, and bonds firmly to the substrate, preventing powdering; after opening, simply add water and mix; the product is easy to apply, trowel, and finish, resulting in a smooth and uniform surface after application.
Lime-based mortar can be prepared from quicklime or slaked lime, and mixed with sand or cement to create lime-sand mortar or cement-lime mix mortar, for use in masonry or plastering applications. Lime-stabilized soil has good strength and water resistance. It is widely used as a foundation, sub-base for floors, and road surface for buildings.
