Can waterproof adhesives really provide waterproofing?
1、Waterproof adhesives are indeed effective in waterproofing. Waterproof adhesives are classified based on their composition, with common types including PS adhesives, PA adhesives, PC adhesives, PE adhesives, PP adhesives, rubber adhesives, and polyurethane adhesives. A new type of nano-silicone waterproof adhesive has recently been launched.
2. Among the various types of waterproof adhesives mentioned above, nano-silicone waterproof adhesive boasts superior performance. This waterproof adhesive is manufactured using nanotechnology and is considered a friendly and environmentally conscious product. Nano-silicone waterproof adhesive exhibits excellent penetration and forms a highly elastic coating, providing exceptional waterproofing capabilities. It can be diluted with water and applied to surfaces of materials such as concrete, gypsum, stone, asbestos products, bricks, blocks, and insulation boards. It can also be mixed with cement to use as a waterproof coating.
How is the waterproof effect of the waterproof adhesive?
1、 Waterproof sealant can be applied as a thin film during material bonding, or it can achieve waterproofing effects by bonding with transparent PVC. Waterproof sealants, also known as moisture-proof adhesives or "three-proof paints," are hard after curing and offer good protection against moisture, corrosion, and salt mist. They have a high temperature resistance of 130 degrees and a low temperature resistance of -60 degrees. After curing, they are harder than acrylics.

2、The waterproof adhesive is in liquid form and primarily functions to waterproof. The waterproofing requirements are high. The waterproof adhesive is mainly divided into general-purpose waterproof adhesive and flexible waterproof adhesive. General-purpose waterproof adhesive consists of a high polymer polymer emulsion and a powder material composed of inorganic materials. After mixing the powder material and additives in accordance with the specified ratio, the resulting mixture is applied to the desired area, forming a branched crystal structure within the substrate to block the water molecule channels within the structure, thereby achieving waterproofing.
Advantages and disadvantages of waterproof glue
1、Advantages of waterproof adhesives
The main characteristics of waterproof adhesive are that it can be diluted and sprayed onto objects or porous building material surfaces, and after drying and curing, it can form a high-elastic waterproof layer, thereby achieving waterproof and moisture-proof effects.
High-quality waterproof adhesives exhibit excellent corrosion resistance, aging resistance, water leakage prevention, and insulation properties. These types of waterproof adhesives are commonly used in industrial manufacturing, and their quality is also very high.
2、Disadvantages of waterproof adhesives
The waterproofing adhesive requires strict requirements for the construction surface. If the construction surface contains moisture or dust, it will not achieve ideal waterproofing after solidification, and may even cause water leakage. In particular, if the construction surface contains oil stains, it will also affect the waterproofing effect. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the construction surface is clean during construction.
The waterproofing adhesive should not exhibit tearing, detachment, or water absorption within 24 hours after application. Any such issues will negatively impact the curing process and may result in the partial detachment of the cured waterproofing adhesive from the substrate, leading to waterproofing failure.
