1、Substrate preparation for wall surfaces
Before applying liquid wallpaper, it is essential to thoroughly prepare the wall substrate. This includes removing all existing wall coatings and applying an interface treatment agent to reduce loose particles and enhance the adhesion of the substrate. After that, the wall surface should be thoroughly leveled. once the putty powder has fully dried (three coats), liquid wallpaper application can proceed.
2、Mix and test the wallpaper paint.
Open the pre-selected wallpaper paint, thoroughly mix, and allow it to settle for a while. once the air bubbles on the surface of the paint have dissipated, pour the air-free wallpaper paint into the pre-selected patterned mold. Note that when pouring, avoid splashing the paint onto the surrounding floor during subsequent use with a roller.
3、Proper application of liquid wallpaper
We should apply the liquid wallpaper in a manner that is consistent with the size and spacing of the chosen wallpaper pattern, ensuring that each pattern is vertically aligned and parallel. If the width of the roller is insufficient when applying the wallpaper to the corner, we can use a soft film brush for manual application to maintain the overall flatness of the liquid wallpaper.
II. Construction Process for Liquid Wallpaper
1. Mixing: First, pour the liquid wallpaper into a container, open the lid, and thoroughly mix with a stirring stick. once all air bubbles have disappeared, the mixture is ready for application. If air bubbles remain, allow the mixture to sit for approximately 10 minutes before applying.
2、Adding Material: Add a small amount of coating to the inner frame of the printing tool as needed.
3、Applying Putty: Place the printing tool at the corner of the wall. Ensure that the printing mold's surface is in close contact with the wall, and then apply putty using a scraper.
4、Collection: After scraping each pattern, remove any excess coating from the mold. When lifting the mold, ensure it is vertical to the wall surface.
5. For floral patterns: When using the template, ensure that the horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines form a straight line according to the spacing between the flowers. Position the template so that the outer frame closely follows the outermost edge of the pre-printed floral pattern, then apply the putty paste and scrape evenly across the entire wall. Use the outer frame of the template as a reference point.
6、Fill in gaps: When the wall surface is not sufficiently hardened in the vertical or horizontal direction, ready-mixed putty paste is needed to fill the gaps.
Due to the relatively high cost of liquid wallpaper, which is due to the use of natural raw materials, liquid wallpaper is typically only used for localized decoration in home interior design. Additionally, liquid wallpaper has a complex installation process that requires high standards for the substrate and a longer installation time. If the blockage is not severe, it can be easily addressed by gently wiping away the unclear pattern on the wall with a clean, damp cloth. Additionally, wipe the back of the mesh at the mesh eye locations with a towel.
