One, How to remove pure paper wallpaper
1、On the wall surface, choose an inconspicuous corner and use the tip of a utility knife to lift the paper wallpaper.
If it is removable wallpaper, then with even and moderate pressure, the wallpaper will detach from the wall. If not, it may be non-removable wallpaper, and methods such as soaking, steam, or dry peeling may be required.
2、Cutting and Soaking Method. Apply water or wallpaper remover, and allow it to soak completely into the wallpaper. Repeat the same process on the next strip of wallpaper, then return to the first strip and re-wet it with the solution from top to bottom.
Starting with a pre-cut strip of wall covering, place the blade underneath the bottom edge of the strip and angle the scraper at 30 degrees to the horizontal surface. Slide the blade to remove the dampened wall covering. A strip of wall covering that is the same width as the blade will detach from the blade and be pulled downwards and wrapped around the scraper.
Continue pushing downwards until the wallpaper can no longer be peeled off. If the wallpaper peels off in pieces, re-wet the area and begin removing the next strip. If, after repeated wetting and removal, adhesive residue remains on the surface, a different method of treatment is required.
3. Steam Method. After steaming, place the steam board against the wall until the wallpaper at the edges of the board becomes discolored due to moisture. Starting with a strip, peel off the wallpaper from top to bottom.
After steaming one half of the paper strip, use a fingernail or utility knife to lift and peel off the top corner of the wallpaper. If the wallpaper cannot be removed, scrape off the wallpaper using a wallpaper scraper.
Two. Precautions for removing pure paper wallpaper
1. When removing removable wallpaper, lift a corner of the wallpaper and pull it away from the wall. Keep your hand as close to the wall as possible to minimize the risk of tearing the wallpaper.
2. If there are residual glues remaining on the peeled wallpaper, you can wipe them off with salt or clean them with a cloth dampened with alcohol.
3. If steam stripping is not effective, you may need to apply steam to the same area twice or three times to loosen the adhesive that has been bonding the wallpaper to the substrate for a long time.
