The types of wood commonly used for plywood include: poplar, birch, pine, and toon, among others. Poplar and birch are considered the best choices due to their dense, firm texture, strong nail holding ability, and resistance to deformation. However, toon is a lighter, softer wood that absorbs moisture easily and has poor nail holding ability, making it difficult to dry and prone to cracking and deformation. Pine, on the other hand, has a hard, dense texture that is difficult to press, making it challenging to create strong joints. It also has poor nail holding ability and is prone to deformation.
