One. The orange peel pattern on the wall covering is due to…
The "orange peel" effect on wall coverings refers to the appearance of numerous small bumps on the surface of the wall covering after it is pasted onto the wall. This creates a rough, uneven texture that resembles the skin of an orange. This phenomenon is commonly referred to as the "orange peel" effect in the industry. The causes include:
1、After installing the wallpaper, it absorbs a large amount of the adhesive mixture used for installation. Subsequently, as the wallpaper dries, the moisture in the wallpaper evaporates, causing the previously fully-absorbed adhesive mixture-soaked wallpaper to dry and warp, resulting in an uneven surface.
2. The density and porosity of the wall covering directly affect the amount of adhesive mixture it can absorb. The more it absorbs, the greater the risk of the "orange peel" phenomenon.

3. During construction, the viscosity and application time of the adhesive directly affect whether "orange peel" phenomenon occurs. The more diluted the adhesive and the earlier it is applied to the wall, the more likely it is to cause the "orange peel" phenomenon.
Two. What should be done if wallpaper shows orange peel-like texture?
1、If the "orange peel" effect on the wallpaper is minor, try smoothing it out with ironing or scraping with a scraper.
2. If there is a large area of "orange peel" effect on the wall covering but it is not severe, you can inject adhesive into the affected area using a syringe. Then, inject the adhesive into the bottom of the wall covering, and use a scraper to remove the excess. Finally, use an iron to smooth the surface.
3. If the wallpaper has large areas of "orange peel" appearance, which is severe and affects aesthetics, then the entire wallpaper should be removed and replaced with a thicker, more durable wallpaper to completely resolve the issue of large-scale "orange peel" appearance in the wallpaper.
