One, what to do if the wallpaper is bulging?
1、After applying the wallpaper, if the wallpaper itself is bubbling, you can flatten it by ironing with a steam iron.
2. Small areas of putty powder on the wall appear blistered or bubbly. Use the syringe application method. Mix white glue with water and inject using a syringe. Then, use a putty knife or stainless steel roller to roll and press the wall fabric's putty or paint to thin it out. After that, use an iron to smooth it out, ensuring that the iron is placed on a sheet of paper to prevent direct contact with the wall fabric. Repeat this process several times to achieve a smooth surface, but some rolling marks may still remain.
Note: To avoid bubble formation, carefully inspect the wall surface for evenness before applying wallpaper. The smoother the surface, the better the result. Ideally, use the palm of your hand to move back and forth across the wall surface, while visually inspecting for cracks, bumps, bubbles, and detachment. This is particularly important for walls that have been previously painted with latex paint. If any of these issues are present, the wall surface must be stripped down to the substrate and re-applied with putty.
II. Wall Covering Installation Precautions
1、Before applying wall coverings, perform necessary preparatory work. If there are cracks, they should be repaired first. If the substrate is prone to moisture or mold growth, it should be treated with a mold-resistant agent. A mold-resistant agent can be applied evenly after applying adhesive, to prevent the formation of mold later.
2. Ensure that all water pipes, electrical conduits, and other utilities are properly installed. If the ceiling requires drilling for light fixtures, drill the holes first before applying wall coverings.
3. When applying wallpaper, be sure to create vertical lines for the wallpaper to run along, ensuring the wallpaper is applied vertically and facilitates the trimming process.
4. If using fiber-based wall coverings, avoid contact with dust generated during installation. If contact occurs, the installation must be restarted.
5. The adhesive should have the appropriate viscosity and should be free of impurities, otherwise it may cause unevenness.
