One, how to apply plastic wallpaper to the wall

1、 Stringing

The purpose of drawing horizontal and vertical lines is to ensure that the patterns, designs, and lines on the plastic wallpaper can be consistently arranged both horizontally and vertically. After determining the first vertical line on each wall, position it at a distance less than 50 to 100 mm from the corner of the wall, depending on the width of the wallpaper. Use this line as the starting point, with a spacing of approximately 10 mm less than the wallpaper width, and then draw the remaining vertical lines.

2、 Measurement and cutting

After measuring the height from the wall's top to the baseboard, leave approximately 50mm on each end for trimming. Then, cut the first piece of wallpaper. For patterned plastic wallpaper, align the pattern starting from the top of the wall.

3、 Wetting the paper

Before applying the plastic wallpaper, it is necessary to first wipe it with water or soak it in water for 3 to 5 minutes, then remove any excess water, and finally allow it to sit for approximately 15 minutes before applying the adhesive.

4、Apply adhesive

In general, adhesive should be applied evenly to both the wall and the plastic wallpaper. The width of the adhesive application on the wall should be approximately 25mm wider than the width of the wallpaper. Adhesive application for wallpaper should be done on a dedicated work surface to avoid making a mess.

5、Adhesive application

The principle is to apply the material to vertical surfaces first, followed by horizontal surfaces; then, apply to details, followed by large areas. When applying to vertical surfaces, follow the principle of applying from top to bottom; when applying to horizontal surfaces, follow the principle of applying from high to low.

6、Repair and Finishing

After the wallpaper application is complete, it is necessary to perform finishing work. Trim excess plastic wallpaper from the top and bottom, and then smooth the edges. Clean the edges of the plastic wallpaper to remove any dirt or debris.

II. How to maintain plastic wallpaper after application

1. After installing plastic wallpaper, the room should be closed and allowed to air out naturally. Immediately ventilating a room with newly installed wallpaper can cause the wallpaper to curl and bubble.

2、After the wallpaper has been installed for 3 days, gently wipe away any remaining wallpaper adhesive at the seams using a damp cloth.

3. Plastic wallpaper is relatively easy to clean, but it is not resistant to damage from blunt impacts. If minor surface damage is noticed, it can be repaired with paint or other coatings of similar color.

4、Non-textured plastic wallpaper can be cleaned easily with a chenille scrubber on a daily basis.
