II. How to apply latex paint to plywood
The process for applying latex paint to particleboard is as follows: Particleboard substrate inspection and preparation → cleaning → filling gaps and applying putty powder locally → sanding → joint treatment → first coat of full putty powder application → sanding → putty powder inspection and repair → sanding → second coat of full putty powder application → sanding → cleaning → first coat of latex paint application → inspection, putty powder repair and sanding → second coat of latex paint application.
Of course, there is another method: applying gypsum board on top of the plywood and then painting with latex paint.
Note: When applying latex paint to particleboard, to achieve a smooth and even finish, it is necessary to apply a putty powder base, sand it, and then apply the paint according to the standard process. In rainy seasons, humid areas, or damp rooms, applying latex paint to particleboard can easily lead to issues such as discoloration and mold growth.
