One, how to select large core panels
1、Choose reputable brands
"When selecting materials, it is important to choose reputable, well-known brands. These brands have the resources and expertise to produce high-quality products. They also prioritize their brand image and value, and are committed to providing excellent quality and service, avoiding misleading advertising."
2、Price of plywood
The price of plywood varies depending on several factors, including the area covered, the thickness of the plywood, and the manufacturer and brand. Commonly available plywood on the market is typically E1-grade, and purchasing larger sheets from reputable brands like Basalt is generally recommended.
3、Clearly identify the markings

When selecting, be sure to check the manufacturer's trademark, production address, and anti-counterfeiting marks; consumers should also request the original inspection report from the dealer when purchasing, and the lower the formaldehyde release value indicated in the product inspection report, the better.
4. Avoid common purchasing mistakes
High-moisture-resistant boards are relatively lightweight and do not exhibit cracking or unevenness. For consumers, the safest approach is to purchase boards from reputable building material suppliers, preferably those offering well-known brands.
5、Add the following text to the invoice:
According to national standards, fine wood panels that do not meet national standards are not allowed to be sold on the market from July 1, 2002. Therefore, consumers should add the phrase "must comply with national standards" to their purchase contracts or invoices. In addition, it is recommended to keep a sample during construction. If, after the completion of the project, indoor environmental pollution is found to be caused by the quality of the large-panel board, this can be used as a basis for determining responsibility.
Two. important considerations when selecting large core panels.
1、Inspect the appearance
Inspect the surface of the large-sized panel for flatness, warping, deformation, blistering, or depressions. Cut into the plywood to examine the internal arrangement of the core strips, ensuring they are uniform and well-aligned with minimal gaps. Check the core strips for signs of rot, breakage, insect damage, or knots. Generally, high-quality large-sized panels tend to have better internal quality.
2、By touch
Feel the surface of the particleboard with your hand; high-quality particleboard should feel dry, smooth, and even to the touch.
3、Listen for sounds
Strike the surface of the panel and listen for any significant changes in the sound. If there is a change in the sound, it indicates that there are voids inside the panel. A squeaking sound indicates poor bonding strength.
4、Smell for odors
If the particle board emits a pleasant wood scent, it indicates low formaldehyde emissions. If the odor is pungent, it indicates high formaldehyde emissions, and you should not purchase it.
5、Check environmental properties
Particleboard uses urea-formaldehyde resin, which releases free formaldehyde, impacting human health. Therefore, the main difference between environmentally friendly particleboard and substandard particleboard lies in the quality of the adhesive. If particleboard is manufactured using environmentally friendly adhesives, the only odor present in the production site is the odor of dry wood, without the pungent smell of formaldehyde. If particleboard emits a pungent odor, it indicates a high formaldehyde release.
