Vinyl flooring requires regular waxing and polishing. Waxing and polishing vinyl flooring is done to extend its lifespan and maintain its shine. The wax forms a transparent, abrasion-resistant protective layer that seals the surface and prevents oxidation, minimizing damage to the flooring. Waxing also protects against damage from cleaning agents, scratches, scuffs, and shoe heels. This helps to prolong the material's lifespan and maintain its aesthetic appearance.
Two. PVC stone tile floor polishing and waxing process
1、Waxing tools
PVC synthetic flooring wax, wax mop, high-performance squeegee, static dust remover, neutral all-purpose cleaner, strong wax remover, floor scrubber, polishing pad, multi-functional floor washer, vacuum and mop machine.
For residential renovations, it is generally recommended to hire professional companies to apply wax. For industrial applications, if you have the necessary skills and resources, you can do it yourself. However, if you are very busy, it is best to hire a professional to ensure quick and efficient completion, saving you time.
2、Waxing method
Neutral all-purpose cleaner is mixed with water at a ratio of 1:30 and used with a floor scrubbing machine to clean the floor (remove grease and dirt). The wastewater is removed with a vacuum cleaner, and the floor can then be left to air dry.
Pour the floor wax solution into a bucket. Use a mop to apply the wax solution to the floor, ensuring even coverage by dragging the mop in one direction (either left to right or front to back). Avoid leaving any areas un-waxed. After applying the first coat of wax, wait 30-50 minutes for it to dry before applying a second coat.
3、Polishing Method
For SPC (stone plastic composite) flooring, after the first coat of wax, polishing is not required; 2-3 coats of polishing are sufficient. Use a buffing pad and floor scrubber to polish. Polishing enhances the shine and removes any dirt or wax residue. once polished, the SPC flooring surface will look brand new. If polishing is repeated 5-10 times without achieving a shine, it indicates that the flooring lacks wax and needs to be re-waxed.
