One, can anti-theft doors be installed with fingerprint locks?
Security doors can be equipped with fingerprint locks. However, before installation, it is essential to have a professional installer measure the dimensions of the door. Then, select and install the appropriate fingerprint lock, which typically takes about an hour to complete. Fingerprint locks are relatively affordable, and standard models can be purchased for around $1,000. Moreover, fingerprint locks offer enhanced security performance.
II. How to install a fingerprint lock on a security door
1、First, determine the opening direction of the door (left or right).
Some products are suitable for multiple applications, but most products require specifying the opening direction. For example, we will use the most common right-inward opening as an example. During actual installation, the actual opening direction should be followed.
2、Marking, drilling, and creating grooves.
On the door, mark the center line of the handle and the center line of the door thickness at the appropriate height. Use a paper template to precisely align the center line of the door with the door edge line, then draw the holes and groove lines. Use a drill or other tools to create the holes and grooves.
3、Install the locking mechanism
① Ensure the direction of the latch and the opening direction are correct. If not, use a screwdriver to lift the latch mechanism, rotate it 180 degrees, and then release the screwdriver to allow it to return to its original position.
② Insert the lock body into the hole. During this process, ensure that the locking hooks (if present) are securely fastened. The lock body's alignment should be verified, and then the lock body is secured with screws.
③ Insert the lock cylinder from the outside and tighten the lock screw with a screwdriver. Then, test the lock mechanism with a mechanical key to ensure that the lock tongue operates correctly.
④ Insert the hand-operated bar from the outside into the square hole of the lock and ensure it is properly positioned.
4、Install interior and exterior panels
① Before installing the panels, attach the handle according to the opening direction of the security door. Route the cable from the outer panel to the inner panel, aligning it with the latch, tongue, and screw holes.
② Attach the inner adhesive pad and inner bottom plate to the inner door panel. After passing the lock body and outer covering plate wires through the corresponding holes, connect the outer covering plate with screws, align the position, and tighten the screws.
③ Insert the locking body cable and the outer cover cable into the corresponding sockets, and insert the rotating rod.
④ Insert the rotating bar into the lock body, then insert the inner panel into the handle bar and rotating bar. Secure the inner panel with bottom plate screws and panel screws.
⑤ After installation, use the inner handle to lift and press, and check if the latch operates smoothly. Also, use the outer handle while simultaneously using a mechanical key to rotate the lock core, and check for any abnormalities.
⑥ Insert the battery, then sequentially check for fingerprint recognition, password entry, and door operation.
5、Install the jambs and lock boxes
① After the fingerprint lock test is successful, install the door frame and lock box on the burglar-proof door frame, secure them with screws, and then operate the door to check for smooth and free movement.
② After all installation is complete, you can register the fingerprint and password according to the instructions, and use the product normally.
