I.Softwood flooringHow to inspect
1. Appearance inspection
During the acceptance of soft wood flooring, the surface should not have any stains or residues left by coatings, and the surface should be clean and neat. There should be no scratches, cracks, or other defects on both sides. There should also be no indentation, layering, or local damage. The wood flooring should be cut accurately, and the difference in length between the pieces should not be too significant. The color and pattern of the wood flooring should be consistent.

2、Joint Inspection
When installing soft wood flooring, it is unavoidable that two pieces of wood will have slightly different heights. Generally, the height difference between adjacent wood flooring pieces should be less than 0.5mm. Additionally, the joint between the flooring and the skirting should not be excessive. Large cracks will not only affect the appearance but also the functionality.
3、Detail inspection
Softwood flooring, like ceramic tiles, can develop air pockets if not properly installed. When inspecting softwood flooring, it is recommended to walk on the floor to identify any air pockets. If air pockets are detected, it is essential to notify the construction team for remediation.
II. Acceptance Criteria for Softwood Flooring
1. Check if the floor colors are consistent. If there is a significant color difference, which can affect the appearance, request a replacement. If the colors are very similar with minimal color difference, then check if the patterns on the floor surface are the same.
2. Check for sounds under the floor during acceptance. When inspecting, walk back and forth on the floor, paying particular attention to areas near walls and around doorways. If any sounds are detected, repeat the walking motion to pinpoint the exact location and mark it clearly. If this occurs, you can request that the affected area be removed and replaced.
3. Inspect the floor for deformation or warping. The method involves using a 2-meter straight ruler, placed flat on the floor, and measuring the flatness. The maximum deviation should not exceed 3 millimeters. Take multiple measurements in different locations. If the pass rate is 80% or higher, the floor is considered acceptable; otherwise, it is considered unacceptable.
4、Kick plate inspection:The gap between theKickback and the door frame should be ≤2mm; The spacing between the joints of theKickback should be ≤1mm; The gap between theKickback and the floor surface should be within 3mm to 5mm; The height difference of theKickback joint should be ≤1mm.
5、Door Stop Installation Inspection: The door stop should be installed directly below the door, with a snug fit on both sides when the door is closed, and a gap between the door stop and the door bottom of 3-7mm. The door should open and close smoothly. The door stop installation must be secure and stable. Check if the door stop sides are lifting or loosening by kicking the middle part. There should be no abnormal noises.
6. Finally, inspect the surface of the floor for any gaps or scratches. The specifications require that the gaps in soft wood flooring should not exceed 0.5 mm. Scratches are primarily caused by rough workmanship during construction. If these cannot be repaired using waxing methods, the flooring must be replaced.
