One, Deformation caused by quality issues of vitrified bricks
1、Inspection method
The primary reason for unevenness in glass bricks is that the glass bricks themselves are not flat, exhibiting a curved or warped appearance. While the degree of warping is not significant, measurements with a level still reveal that the glass bricks are not level. This indicates a quality issue with the glass bricks.
2、Solution/Treatment method

① Prepare bricks of the same specifications/type.
Because we plan to replace the existing glass bricks, and the existing glass bricks have quality issues, the editor suggests preparing the same specifications and dimensions of glass bricks in advance. We need to replace all glass bricks that are lifting.
② Remove the existing glass bricks.
The warping that occurs in the vitrified bricks due to quality issues is irreparable. Even if we manage to fix the warped vitrified bricks, the floor will still remain uneven. Therefore, the appropriate solution is to completely remove and replace all vitrified bricks that exhibit warping and quality issues.
③ Remove the bonding layer
At this stage, we need to check the specific condition of the bonding layer, which is the area where the materials are being applied. If the applied materials are very strong, then cleaning is not necessary. However, if the applied materials are loose, we recommend removing all loose cement mortar from this area. After treating the bonding layer according to these two different conditions, we can then reapply the glass tiles.
④ Re-laying of glass bricks
When the material used to adhere glass bricks to the floor is firmly bonded and shows no movement, we recommend using structural adhesive for direct bonding. This method is the simplest and requires minimal material. Alternatively, you can also use glass brick adhesive. Both of these methods are thin-layer application techniques that meet the bonding requirements. However, if the concrete mortar layer has been removed, reapply the concrete mortar layer first, and then apply the glass bricks. This will complete the repair of the glass bricks.
Two. The cause of laying the glass bricks resulted in warping and deformation.
1、Inspection method
When you notice that glass bricks are lifting, we remove the glass bricks and check their flatness. If the flatness meets the requirements, the lifting is most likely due to the glass bricks not being properly adhered to the substrate. Another cause is lifting of glass bricks that occurs when insufficient gaps are left during installation.
2、Recommended solutions
① Demolition of glass bricks
Because our glass bricks have no quality issues, they can be reused. In this case, we can remove the existing glass bricks. When removing the bricks, gradually separate and remove them from the substrate. It is crucial to be careful during removal to avoid damaging the glass bricks. If any damage occurs, new glass bricks will need to be replaced.
② Treatment of the bonding layer
Inspect the quality of the bonding layer for the glass tiles. If the bonding layer is very strong, it indicates that the quality is satisfactory. However, if the bonding layer for the glass tiles is loose or shows signs of significant powdering, it is necessary to remove and re-apply the bonding layer. In summary, the appropriate treatment method should be selected based on the condition of the bonding layer.
③ Re-laying of vitrified bricks
Before re-laying the glass tile, please ensure that all loose powder on the back of the glass tiles is thoroughly cleaned, and then the tiles can be re-laid.
