One. How to remove non-woven wallpaper
1、Direct removal method
In a discreet corner of the wall, use the tip of a utility knife to lift the non-woven wallpaper. Try to keep it as close to the wall as possible, then grip one corner of the wallpaper and attempt to peel it off. Peel the wallpaper away from the wall in the direction you are facing.
2、Cutting and Penetrating Method
Apply water or wallpaper removal solution, and allow it to penetrate the wallpaper completely for several minutes. Repeat the same process on the next strip of wallpaper. Return to the first strip and re-wet it with the solution, working from top to bottom. Use a scraper to begin removing the wallpaper, starting with a cut section of the wallpaper strip. Continue scraping downwards until the wallpaper can no longer be peeled away.
3、Steam curing method
Press the vapor barrier onto the wall until the edges of the wallpaper become discolored due to moisture. After treatment, lift the top corner of the non-woven fabric wallpaper and tear it off. If the wallpaper cannot be removed, scrape it off with a wall scraper.
Two. Precautions for removing non-woven wallpaper
1、When removing self-adhesive wallpaper, start by peeling it from a corner and gradually remove it, avoiding pulling it from multiple locations at once. This can cause the wallpaper to tear into pieces, making it more difficult to clean.
2. After the non-woven fabric wallpaper heats up, it should be removed promptly. If the wallpaper cools down and the adhesive also solidifies, it will be more difficult to remove.
3. When removing wallpaper, if a small amount of adhesive residue remains, it can be wiped clean. Alternatively, apply a warm, damp cloth to the area with adhesive residue, and once the adhesive softens, carefully peel or wipe away the wallpaper.
