II. Standard for Formaldehyde Emission from Artificial Boards
"GB/T 39600-2021 specifies the formaldehyde emission classification for composite wood products and related articles: Formaldehyde emission is classified into three levels based on the specified limit values.
Class E1 (≤0.124 mg/m³)
E0 grade (≤0.050mg/m³)
ENF grade (≤0.025 mg/m³)
The standard for formaldehyde emissions in engineered wood products specifies the emission level for a single product. However, in home renovation projects, it's not just engineered wood products that may release formaldehyde; some textile materials can also emit formaldehyde.
The indoor air quality standard (GB/T 18883-2002), implemented on March 1, 2003, was established to protect human health and prevent and control indoor air pollution. Specifically, the standard stipulates that the 1-hour average concentration of formaldehyde should be less than or equal to 0.10 mg/m³.
