One. Are black spots on solid wood doors normal?
If there are few black spots on the surface of the solid wood door and they are unevenly distributed, it is normal. Natural wood will have some black spot textures, which is unavoidable.
However, if there are a large number of dark spots on the surface of a solid wood door, and they are densely distributed in a specific area, this is an abnormal condition. These dark spots are likely caused by mold growth and decay due to moisture exposure.

II. How to deal with blackening of solid wood doors
If the natural texture is acceptable, no further action is required. However, if you are particularly concerned, you can purchase a repair pen and apply it to the dark spots to cover them. If the dark spots are caused by mold, we will need to perform mold removal and cleaning on the solid wood door.
1. If solid wood doors exhibit mold and discoloration, you can use specialized essential oils. Dampen a clean, soft cloth with a neutral cleaning agent or a specialized cleaning agent and gently wipe the affected areas to effectively remove mold or discoloration.
2. Currently, there are wood mold removers available on the market. We can use these wood mold removers, evenly spraying them on areas affected by mold, or applying them directly to the surface of solid wood doors that have turned black and moldy. This is the simplest and most effective method for removing mold.
After treating the affected areas, apply an anti-mold agent to prevent further mold growth. This will effectively inhibit mold and bacteria, and also provide strong protection. Finally, apply a wood oil finish for a more complete and durable result.
