Product Description
Soil tensimeter/microporous ceramic tube for meter (clay head)
Soil tensiometer is composed of pressure gauge, acrylic tube and ceramic head. When the acrylic tube is filled with water, the ceramic head is moist and prevents external air from entering the ceramic head.
The ceramic head is the sensor part of the instrument, which has many fine pores. After the ceramic head is infiltrated by water, a water film is formed in the pores. When the water-filled and sealed soil hygrometer is inserted into the unsaturated soil, the water film is connected with the soil water, causing negative pressure to be generated in the water inside the instrument. The value of the pressure gauge is the soil water potential of the soil being measured.
