Titanium Pipe and Tube is increasingly being used in a myriad of applications due to the inefficiency of stainless steel and other materials in many instances. A common titanium mill product is titanium tubes, which are employed in a variety of products owing to its superior corrosion resistance and strength-to-weight ratio. The development of many different alloys has extended the application of titanium in industries ranging from industrial and chemical processing to power generation.
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers has approved most titanium grades, meaning that more options are available for various projects. Although grades such as 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 11 and others are usable, grade 2 is suitable for most instances. The ready availability of grade 2 makes it a preferable material for quick production runs and larger orders.
Determining how a grade will exactly be used is essential prior to selecting any grade. Grades 7, 12, 16, or 26 can be used to fabricate titanium pipes for use in areas demanding greater corrosion resistance. Grades 3 and 12 may be a preferable material for pipes requiring more strength.
What is ASTM B862 / ASME SB862?
This Standard Specification for Titanium and Titanium Alloy Welded Pipe
This specification covers the requirements for 33 grades of titanium and titanium alloy welded pipe intended for general corrosion resisting and elevated temperature service. Welded pipe shall be made from annealed flat-rolled products by a welding process. Welded pipe may be further reduced by cold working or hot working. Grades 1, 2, 2 H, 7, 7H, 11,13, 14, 16, 16H, 17, 26H, 33, and 37 shall be furnished as welded or annealed. Grades 3, 12, 15, and 34 shall be furnished as annealed. Grade 5, 23, 24, 25, 35 shall be furnished as annealed, or aged. Grade 9, 18, 38 shall be furnished as annealed. Grade 19, 20, 21 shall be furnished as solution treated, or solution treated and aged. The materials shall conform to the required chemical composition for nitrogen, carbon, hydrogen, iron, oxygen, aluminum, vanadium, tin, ruthenium, palladium, cobalt, molybdenum, chromium, nickel, niobium, zirconium, silicon, and titanium. They shall also conform to the required mechanical propetries such as tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation. Chemical Composition Of Titanium Alloy Pipe & Tube

- All of our pipe & tubes are packaged as per international standard to prevent any possible damage or loss. By default, we will use thick woven plastic bag to bundle the finished pipes together in batches.
- For some special pipes & tubes that are vulnerable to dirt, scratches, stress or rough handling, we will suggest wooden case for protection. Kindly note, wooden case can incur extra cost, not only its own cost, but also the increased freight cost, which is especially true for air transportation.
- For enhanced customer experience, we also provide dedicated package as per your special requirements.
