One. What is carbonized wood?
Charcoal-impregnated wood is wood that has undergone surface carbonization or deep processing. It is divided into two types: one is deeply carbonized charcoal-impregnated wood, which is wood that has been treated with high-temperature, high-pressure, oxygen-free, and water-free carbonization. The other is surface-carbonized wood, which is wood that has a thin layer of carbonized surface achieved through oxygen torch treatment.

2. Which is better, carbonized wood or solid wood?
In reality, charcoal wood is essentially solid wood, but it has undergone a high-temperature, high-pressure, oxygen-free, and water-free carbonization process at temperatures between 195°C and 212°C. This process destroys its nutrients, resulting in good anti-corrosion and insect-repellent properties. For outdoor flooring, kitchen renovations, and sauna renovations, using waterproof and moisture-resistant charcoal wood would be preferable. However, for indoor floor renovations, solid wood is sufficient.
III. Advantages of Carbonized Wood
1、Environmentally friendly
Carbonized wood utilizes natural wood, and the production and processing process does not include any harmful chemical agents or generate any environmental pollution. It is a truly environmentally friendly and green building material.
2、Air purification
Activated carbon intermediates possess the functionality of activated carbon while retaining the properties of high-end wood, and also provide air purification capabilities.
3、Excellent stability, resistant to cracking and deformation.
After the wood is carbonized, its functional groups are rearranged, resulting in significantly improved performance. The dimensional stability is enhanced, and it becomes less prone to deformation and cracking during use.
4、Corrosion resistance
The nutrients within the carbonized wood are broken down, disrupting the nutrient chain necessary for wood decay, thereby conferring a preservative effect and extending the service life of the wood.
5、Easy to clean and process
Charcoal wood, due to its complete degreasing, provides a smoother surface for paint application, and the paint is less likely to peel off. Charcoal wood also has excellent processing properties, which can overcome the problem of uneven surfaces.
