One. How to install solid wood doors
1. Inspect upon opening
Upon arrival at the installation site, the solid wood doors should first be unpacked and inspected to ensure that all accessories are present and that the door panels are undamaged.
2、Assemble the door frame
On a smooth and level surface, drill 30-40mm deep holes into the top ends of the vertical studs using a 2.5mm diameter drill. Securely connect the horizontal studs to the two vertical studs with 4 x 80mm long nails. Ensure that the three stud assembly is at the same level, and the gap between the inner vertical stud and the horizontal stud is less than 0.5mm. The horizontal studs should form 90-degree angles with the vertical studs. Attach 6 connection pieces to the sides of the vertical studs. Then, flip the assembled door frame over and secure the remaining 6 connection pieces with nails.
After installation, check:- Verify that the angle is 90 degrees.- Confirm that the inner width at the lower three points of the door frame is consistent.- Ensure that the door and door frame have a pre-fitted joint, with the gap between the door and the door frame meeting the required specifications.
3、Install door openings
Install the pre-assembled door frame into the doorway, adjusting the gaps on both sides and at the top. Use wooden wedges to level and tighten the door frame. Fill the gap between the wall and the door frame with foam sealant or cement mortar. once the foam sealant or cement mortar is dry, remove the temporary wooden wedges and any excess protruding wedges. Then, use universal adhesive to glue the front and back door frame profiles to the door frame. Adjust the insertion depth according to the wall width. When assembling, cut 45-degree angles in the corners in the width direction.Next, use a nail gun to nail the door frame profile to the door frame. once fixed, press in the door frame profile and the silent strip. The fixed door frame profile should press firmly against the joint between the front and back door frame profiles. When assembling, cut 45-degree angles in the corners in the width direction.
4、Install the door leaf
Mark construction auxiliary lines on the wall; simulate and assemble all door frame components to ensure perfect alignment; insert the door frame into the wall opening, ensuring that the door frame's edges and top form a 45-degree angle with the wall opening; maintain parallelism and perpendicularity between the door frame sides and the top of the door frame; mark the corresponding position on the door leaf and leave appropriate gaps; machine 2-3mm slots in the door leaf; attach hinges using provided screws and temporarily fix the door leaf in the correct position; gradually adjust to the precise position; mark the hinge fixing positions on the door frame; machine hinge slots in the door frame; connect the door leaf with hinges and fix the hinges.
5、Install drainage holes
once the lock plate box and lock plate for the door frame are installed, the entire solid wood door installation process is complete.
II. Installation Acceptance Standards for Solid Wood Doors
The acceptance standards for solid wood doors are divided into five parts: door frame acceptance standards, miter joint acceptance standards, door slab acceptance standards, hardware acceptance standards, and appearance acceptance standards.
1、Door frame installation acceptance standards
When inspecting the door frame, pay attention to whether the color of the door frame and the solid wood door are harmonious. Also, ensure that there are no gaps at all joints and that the fixing accessories are securely tightened. The acceptance standards for door frames also require that the lines on the door frame should be diagonally aligned, with an error of no more than 1.5mm.
2、Acceptance criteria for line installation
During the joint inspection, the most important factor is the absence of gaps and a tight, seamless connection. If any gaps are present, they must be filled with sealant. only joints that are perfectly smooth and seamless will meet the inspection standards.
3、Door slab installation acceptance standards
- Door panel inspection is a crucial step in the overall acceptance of solid wood doors according to the most important installation acceptance standards. First, verify that the door panel is installed correctly and that there are no abnormal noises when opening and closing. After closing the door panel, check that the hinges and sealing strips are securely fastened, and that there is no movement or instability.
4、Standards for the acceptance of metal fittings installation
During the acceptance of hardware, it is important to first check whether hinges and other hardware are securely fastened and do not move. Secondly, it is important to verify that the door lock's slotting is accurate and that the key can be inserted and turned smoothly.
5、Appearance Acceptance Criteria
During acceptance, inspect the entire door surface for scratches, dents, and check for gaps between the door frame and the wall. Ensure that there is no peeling or detachment.
