One. Reasons for reduced water output from the water softener.
1、High turbidity in the water source causes the resin in the water softener to trap impurities, leading to increased water resistance and reduced flow rate. Alternatively, large particulate matter in the water can clog the inlet water filter.
2、The effective height of the softening resin does not meet the standard. The lower the resin layer height, the greater the impact on the exchange capacity. When the resin layer height reaches 19 to 30 feet (762 mm), the impact of the resin layer height on the exchange capacity can be reduced to a relatively low level.
3. During processing, if the flow rate is too low, the required working layer for ion exchange will be smaller, which will reduce the effective utilization of the resin. However, the equipment's water production capacity per unit time will increase. Conversely, if the flow rate is too small, the required working layer will be smaller, which will improve the resin utilization, but the equipment's water production capacity per unit time will decrease.
4、If the contact time between water and the resin layer is excessive, the longer the contact time, the more complete the exchange, and the higher the exchange capacity of the resin per unit volume. However, the resin's water output capacity per unit time decreases. Conversely, if the contact time is short, the exchange is incomplete, the resin's exchange capacity per unit volume decreases, and the resin's water output capacity per unit time increases.
Two. What to do if the water output from the water softener is too low?
1. Remove any debris or large particles, and the issue of "water leakage" can be resolved. However, the editor recommends installing a pre-filter or PP cotton filter before the water softener to filter the water first, then soften it, in order to avoid frequent clogging issues.
2、It is recommended that the resin layer height be greater than 800mm.
3. Appropriate flow rates are crucial for enhancing equipment's water production capacity and exchange capability. Generally, it is recommended to maintain flow rates between 20-30 m/h (approximately 4-10 gpm/ft²).
4. Proper contact time is crucial for the economical operation of the softener. The water flow rate should be 8-40 times the volume of the resin.
