One, How to install glass and steel doors
1、Mark the installation position
once the surrounding structure of the door and window opening meets the specified strength, the installation lines for the door and window are marked according to the construction drawings. At the same time, the position and quantity of pre-embedded components within the opening are checked. If the position and quantity of pre-embedded components do not meet the design requirements, or if there are no embedded steel components or anti-corrosion wood bricks, expansion bolts should be drilled at the marked locations on the door and window installation line. The drilling locations should correspond to the position of the connecting iron pieces of the frame.
2、Install connecting iron pieces
Mark 150mm inward from each end of the door and window frame width and height, as the installation points for the first connecting iron. The distance between the intermediate installation points shall not exceed 600mm. Insert the connecting iron into the rebate of the frame at a 45° angle, and then tighten the self-tapping screws to fix it.
3、Vertical timber members
Position the steel door and window within the installation template, and temporarily fix it using wooden wedges. Correct the verticality, diagonals, and levelness, and once confirmed, securely fasten the wooden wedges. To prevent the door and window frame from being deformed by the wooden wedges, the wedges should be placed in areas where they are subject to pressure, such as the corners and the middle frame of the door and window. After fixing the frame, open the door and window sash and repeatedly check its flexibility. If any issues are found, adjust it promptly. When fixing connection components with expansion bolts, at least two bolts should be used for each component. If the opening is pre-filled with wooden blocks, use two screws to securely fasten the connection component to the wooden blocks.
4、Seal joints
Before painting the door and window frame cavities, in addition to installing temporary wooden wedges for fixing, it is also necessary to fill the gaps around the door and window with lightweight foam material to create a flexible connection that can accommodate thermal expansion and contraction. Clean the debris under the frame and fill the gaps between the frame and the wall with sealant.
5、Install small hardware components
When installing small hardware on plastic steel doors and windows, it is necessary to drill holes in the frame first, and then use self-tapping screws to fasten them. It is strictly prohibited to directly hammer them in.
6、Install glass
If the door is a hinged door with a glass panel that opens outwards, the glass can be installed directly after installation. If the door is a removable door, such as sliding doors, the glass can first be installed on the door and then the door can be installed in the frame.
7、Cleaning
When painting the walls of door and window openings with plastic steel, it is necessary to apply protective paper to the door and window frames and sashes to prevent contamination from cement and mortar. If the surface is contaminated with cement and mortar, it should be cleaned immediately. After installing the glass, all traces of adhesive and other contaminants must be removed promptly.
II. How to replace glass in aluminum alloy doors.
1、First, remove the broken glass.
Use a putty knife or a thin blade to first remove the glass strips from the steel door. Remove the two long strips and then the two short ones, and finally remove the double-pane glass. Clean up the fragments. Be careful not to damage the contact surface of the sealing strip, and use the putty knife to smoothly insert and cut.
2、Replacing new glass
Clean the new glass and the existing glass surface thoroughly, as it will be difficult to clean later. Clean the contact surface of the sealant, install the glass, ensure that there are no foreign objects or dust inside, and then seal with glass adhesive.
3、Reinstall the glass
After the sealant has dried to about 80%, re-install the double-glazed window, reversing the process from the disassembly. First, install the shorter pressure strip, then the longer one. Finally, clean the glass, and the replacement of the plastic steel door glass is complete.
