One. What causes the discoloration of wooden doors?
1、Chemical discoloration
Wood doors exhibit discoloration, such as reddish-brown, brown, or yellowish hues, due to chemical and biological reactions in their material. This discoloration is known as chemical aging. The color is typically uniform and limited to the surface. After drying, the color fades. Chemical aging does not affect the physical and mechanical properties of the wood doors, but only slightly damages the appearance of the decorative materials.

2、Fungal discoloration
The discoloration of wooden doors caused by fungal invasion, specifically fungal discoloration, can be further categorized as mold discoloration and rot discoloration.
Fungal discoloration: The surface of the edge material is affected by fungal hyphae and spores, resulting in discoloration. The color varies depending on the color of the spores and hyphae, as well as the pigments released, and can be blue, green, black, purple, or red. It typically appears as scattered spots or dense layers. The fungus is limited to the surface of the wooden door, and it can be easily removed after drying. However, sometimes stains may remain on the wooden door surface, which can damage the appearance of the door without affecting its structural integrity.
Fungal discoloration: This refers to the appearance of fungal growth on wood doors. The most common form is red staining. It can also appear as light reddish-brown, brown, or purplish-red; or as light yellowish-white or pinkish-brown. In the initial stages of fungal decay, the wood door retains its original structure and hardness, and its physical and mechanical properties remain essentially unchanged. However, some may experience a slight reduction in impact strength and damage to its appearance.
Two. How to handle discoloration of wooden doors.
1. First, use 502 adhesive and sawdust to patch the construction area. Then, use a small knife to level the patched area. This process requires repeated application until the construction area is completely smooth and flush with the surrounding surface.
2、After the initial preparation, we proceed to the paint mixing stage. The surfaces of wooden doors are rarely monochromatic, so this step requires a good understanding of color theory and the ability to achieve the desired effect.
3. The subsequent operations and the method described in the first step are similar. Use 502 adhesive and sandpaper to level and secure the construction area. Repeat the above two steps until the surface is smooth.
4、Check the effect: If there are sanding marks, steel wool can solve this problem. You can also use a scrubbing pad with a coarser texture. After removing the sanding marks, clean the repaired area thoroughly with a clean cotton cloth.
5. Then, use a small brush to apply the mixed paint evenly to the wooden door.
III. How to prevent discoloration of wooden doors
1、Do not leave neutral solutions or damp cloths on the solid wood door surface for extended periods, as this can damage the surface and cause the surface finish material to discolor or detach.
2. Please note that solid wood doors should not be exposed to strong acids or strong alkalis, as this can easily cause paint to detach or even cause the wood to rot.
3. To maintain the natural color and luster of solid wood doors, they should be regularly waxed for maintenance.
