One、What materials are used to fill the seams for fireproof windows?
After installing fire-resistant windows, if the gaps are particularly large, ready-mixed putty paste with fire-resistant properties can be used to fill them. However, it is important to avoid touching or shaking the putty paste while it is drying.
If the gaps are excessively large, it is best to first clean the debris within the gaps and then apply foam sealant. Next, fill the gaps with a mixture of cement and sand.
II. Fire-resistant window installation requirements
1、The horizontal distance between doors, windows, and openings adjacent to firewalls should not be less than 2.00m; when the horizontal distance is less than 2.00m, fire-resistant doors and windows of Grade A should be installed.
2、Firewalls should not have doors, windows, or openings. If openings are necessary, self-closing Class A fire doors and windows should be installed.
When two buildings do not meet fire separation requirements and have windows on the side walls adjacent to firewalls, Class A fireproof windows are required.
3. When the window sill wall does not meet the 0.8-meter requirement, if a solid wall is not installed, a fire-resistant window must be used to separate the spaces.
4、Firewalls should not be located at the interior corners of U-shaped or L-shaped high-rise buildings. When located near a corner, the horizontal distance between the nearest edges of the walls on both sides of the corner should not be less than 4.00m; this requirement does not apply when one side of the adjacent wall has a fixed Class A fire-resistant door.
5. In high-rise, unit-type residential buildings with only one fire escape, fire escape windows must be installed.
