The underlying principles of smart locks available on the market are essentially the same. Firstly, when the battery is depleted, the smart lock will generate a low-voltage warning, such as a "beep, beep, beep" alert, indicating that the lock's power is insufficient and requires immediate battery replacement. To install the batteries, the user needs to know their location, which is typically found in the following areas: the back panel, the lock body, or a centralized power supply.
1、Rear panel: Most batteries are located on the rear panel, secured with screws. They can be easily removed and installed using a screwdriver.
2、Lock Mechanism: This is less common, typically found in hotel locks. Some electronic locks have a long lock mechanism (which includes a battery compartment). To remove it, open the door, remove the lock mechanism guide (side strip), and the battery compartment will pop out. Then, replace the batteries.
3、Centralized Power Supply: Centralized power supply is less common, typically involving dozens or hundreds of rooms managed collectively, with a dedicated DC power source. Wiring is connected to each room's password-protected biometric lock. This eliminates the need for battery covers as there are no batteries.

1、Via USB emergency power supply
If a smart lock loses power, how can you open it? Smart locks typically have USB charging ports, and modern smartphones often don't last a full day on a single charge. Therefore, many people carry USB cables and power banks with them. This is a very useful habit. On the front panel of the smart lock, there is a USB power port that can be used with a power bank to provide emergency power and open the door.
2、Emergency mechanical key opening
Smart locks typically include a mechanical emergency key. If you encounter a situation where a smart keypad lock is unable to be opened due to a dead battery, you can use the emergency key to open the door. The keyhole for smart locks is usually located in the lower-middle section of the front panel or at the bottom of the front panel. When using a smart lock, remember to keep the emergency key in a secure location, such as your office, car, or with a trusted neighbor.
3. Hire a locksmith to open the door.
Fingerprint locks with C-class cylinders are difficult for technicians to pick, but this doesn't mean they can't be picked. However, due to the inconvenient design of the lock holes in smart locks, this method is not very practical. I have also heard reports from others who tried to hire locksmiths to open C-class locks, but were refused. This indicates that locksmiths are unwilling to undertake such difficult and unprofitable tasks.
