Two. How to install a double-bar door lock.
1、According to the manufacturer's instructions, attach the provided paper or cardboard template, which comes with the new door lock, to the door edge at the appropriate location. If necessary, secure the template with tape. The template will be used to locate the two holes: one for the latch and the other for the door edge latch. Mark the center points of these two holes on the door.
2. Using a perforated drill and a drill press, drill holes for the lock pins according to the specified size. Note: Avoid damaging the finish on the other side of the door. When the drill bit begins to penetrate, stop drilling and complete the hole from the other side of the door.
3. Drill a hole of the appropriate size on the door edge, extending to the hole of the latch. Use a combination square to align the drill bit with the door edge, ensuring the drill bit is perpendicular to the door. Smooth the edges of the hole with sandpaper.
4、Insert the tongue-and-groove into the corresponding hole and fix it in place, then draw the outline of the tongue-and-groove plate.
5. Insert the latch and latch plate into the mortises created with a chisel, and drill holes for screws to secure them in place.
6、Insert the external latch, ensuring the latch axis or connecting rod fits the latch component, and insert the internal latch, securing it with screws.
7. Determine the correct position of the strike plate on the door frame, drill appropriately sized holes for fixing, and ensure that the strike plate is level with the door frame when installed with screws. The installation is complete.
