For new home renovations, property renovations, and renovations for rental properties, homeowners often need to replace their existing security doors. Many vendors offer security doors and also recommend door locks to their customers, recommending both mechanical locks and smart locks, and even bundling doors and locks together to simplify the purchasing process. II. How to Choose a Smart Door Lock
1、C-class lock cylinder
According to the standards for the smart door lock industry, smart door locks must have a mechanical unlocking mechanism, so smart door locks typically have a key cylinder installed on the edges or center of the door panel. However, having a key cylinder introduces the risk of being opened by technical means, so it is recommended to select a Class C key cylinder with a single-sided leaf plus internal and external milling slot key or double-row plus leaf form. The key cylinder type is a side column key cylinder. The locking mechanism consists of two rows of leaves plus a V-shaped side column lock. If the key cylinder is forced open with a strong tool, the internal structure of the key cylinder will be damaged, resulting in a self-locking mechanism and making it impossible to open. This type of key cylinder offers high security.
2、Multiple anti-theft designs
If the door has a cat's eye, when selecting a lock, choose one with a design that allows the cat's eye to be opened. The user should press the button and simultaneously depress the handle to unlock the door. This prevents intruders from using the cat's eye to gain access. Additionally, designs such as a cat's eye-resistant latch and hidden lock holes can further enhance security.
3、Multiple alarm notifications
(1) Anti-theft alarm system
When the door lock detects multiple incorrect attempts to pick or open the lock, it will trigger an alarm to deter malicious attempts, and the door lock will automatically lock, preventing unauthorized access.
