One. Does the smell coming from the desk indicate the presence of formaldehyde?
The primary factor to consider is the material of the desk. Solid wood and particleboard materials often contain formaldehyde. If it's particleboard, there's a higher possibility of formaldehyde content. However, it's also important to check the thickness and integrity of the surface coating or finish. The simplest method is to use a formaldehyde detection kit. We recommend that customers purchase desks that meet E0 or E1-level environmental standards. Newly purchased desks may have a slight odor, but after ventilation, the odor should dissipate.
Two. How long does it take for artificial board desks to eliminate formaldehyde?
Without any treatment, new artificial particleboard desks will release formaldehyde for 3 to 15 years. Please note that formaldehyde release is a continuous process. The initial 1-2 years will see a faster release, and once the safe standard is reached, there will be no further issues.

Additionally, several methods can be employed to accelerate the removal of formaldehyde:
1、 Place several potted plants, such as spider plants, throughout the room. Aim for 1 to 2 plants per room.
2. Open windows for ventilation to allow natural air circulation and remove indoor pollutants. This is a simple, effective, and long-lasting method.
3. Place activated carbon inside the house; this is an effective solution. Conduct testing every 3 months, and if it passes, you can move in. Items like onions can only mask the odor, and are not ideal.
