1、Solid wood type
Using solid wood for cabinet doors, the door frame is made of solid wood, with cherry, walnut, and oak colors as primary options. The door core consists of MDF with a veneer of solid wood, typically featuring carved designs on the solid wood surface, followed by a coat of paint to preserve the natural wood appearance and create an aesthetically pleasing finish. This ensures the unique visual effect of solid wood while also ensuring the door's strength through the combination of the frame and core. Solid wood cabinet doors are commonly in traditional styles, but typically have a higher price point.
2、Thermoformable type
The backing material for the thermoplastic sheet can be particleboard, or a thermoplastic sheet formed by vacuum thermoforming or a one-piece, seamless PVC membrane forming process. Thermoplastic door panels offer a wide range of colors, realistic wood grain, pure and vibrant single colors, are free from cracking and deformation, and are resistant to scratches, heat, dirt, and fading. They are a mature material for wardrobe doors and are easy to maintain. Thermoplastic door panels are a popular choice in Europe, but the quality of many domestic thermoplastic door panels is not satisfactory.
3、Melamine-faced panel type
Melamine board, also known as melamine-impregnated paper-faced composite board, is manufactured by impregnating paper with different colors or patterns in melamine resin adhesive, followed by drying to a specific degree of solidification, and then laminating it onto the surface of particleboard, medium-density fiberboard, or hardboard, and finally heat-pressing. Melamine-faced door panels have the advantages of smooth surface, resistance to deformation, vibrant colors, and wear and corrosion resistance, and are also cost-effective. When combined with a matching sealant, they create a seamless visual effect. However, the use of adhesives can release formaldehyde, so it is important to select products with low formaldehyde content.
4、Molded Form

Molded panel doors, using particleboard as the substrate, are formed by applying a PVC surface skin through high-temperature hot pressing. These are divided into matte and glossy types, and can be manufactured into various shapes and colors, with realistic wood-like appearance and no cracking. However, they cannot be exposed to prolonged contact or high temperatures, and the design should also be limited in size to prevent deformation.
5、Metal Texture Type
Its structure consists of a medium-density board with a special oxidation treatment, fine wire drawing and polishing, resulting in a dense protective layer of metal or faux metal. This material exhibits excellent wear resistance, high-temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance, along with simple maintenance, fine texture, and ease of cleaning, ensuring a long lifespan. With the increasing popularity of metal finishes, this high-end metal-look door panel is becoming increasingly popular. Specifically, aluminum-clad panels with embossed surfaces are currently considered a high-end option. However, their high price makes them suitable only for ultra-luxury renovations seeking to align with global trends.
6、Glossy Coating Type
The core material for coated panels is particleboard, with a surface that has undergone six coats of imported paint and high-temperature baking. Currently, the "coated" finish used for wardrobe doors only refers to a single process: applying paint followed by drying in a heated chamber. The coated panel features vibrant colors, easy shaping, strong visual impact, excellent aesthetics, waterproof properties, excellent stain resistance, and easy cleaning. However, it has drawbacks such as high processing requirements, high waste rates, and high prices; it is also susceptible to damage from impacts and scratches, making repairs difficult and often requiring complete replacement. Color variations are also common in kitchens with high levels of cooking fumes.
7、Fire-resistant board type
The core material for fire-resistant door panels is typically particleboard, moisture-resistant board, or MDF, with a surface covered by fire-resistant panel veneer. It features vibrant colors, diverse edge treatments, and offers advantages such as abrasion resistance, high-temperature resistance, scratch resistance, water resistance, easy cleaning, colorfastness, a delicate touch, and affordable pricing. However, its disadvantage is that it is a flat panel, which limits the creation of concave, metallic, or other three-dimensional effects, resulting in a slightly less fashionable appearance.
8、Enclosing Frame Type
The door frame and panel material consists of a medium-density board core, with an outer PVC cladding. The door panel itself is made from two decorative panels, which are fabricated and assembled by the cabinet manufacturer. Its advantages include a wide range of colors and the ability to combine the frame and decorative panels in any way, allowing for full personalization and a stylish look. It is also easy to maintain and clean, and the frame and panel structure is stable, non-deforming, and does not require edge sealing. However, it is susceptible to scratches and damage, and is difficult to repair and expensive.
9、Crystal Board
The acrylic board is made of substrate, white fire-resistant board, and acrylic. Its advantages include vibrant colors, smooth surface, easy cleaning, while its disadvantages are that the surface is prone to detachment or scratching, it will oxidize and change color in normal air conditions, and the gloss retention time is not long.
10、Mirror Resin Board
Mirror resin boards are still widely used in the wardrobe market. Their properties are similar to those of painted door panels, offering a fashionable, colorful, and water-resistant finish. However, they are not very durable and are prone to scratches, and their heat resistance is also limited. Therefore, consumers who prioritize aesthetics and color variety can choose mirror resin board wardrobes, but due to their susceptibility to scratches, proper care should be taken during use.
11、Glass
The glass cabinet doors come in printed glass and mirrored glass options. Using these door materials eliminates the need for separate dressing mirrors. This type of door is ideal for young people. However, glass is a fragile material and should be handled with care to avoid breakage.
