One, what is a PE wave pipe?

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) double-wall corrugated pipe, commonly referred to as HDPE corrugated pipe. HDPE double-wall corrugated pipe is a new type of pipe material with a circular structure outer wall and a smooth inner wall, featuring excellent chemical stability, aging resistance, and resistance to environmental stress cracking.

PE ribbed pipes were initially developed in Germany in the early 1980s. After more than ten years of development and refinement, they have evolved from a single product to a complete product series. The production processes and application techniques are now highly mature. Due to their excellent performance and relatively low cost, they have been widely promoted and applied both domestically and internationally.

Two. Specifications and models of PE ribbed pipes

PE corrugated pipes are widely used today, and are available in various specifications and models. Common PE corrugated pipe specifications include DN100mm, DN160mm, DN200mm, DN300mm, DN400mm, DN500mm, DN600mm, DN700mm, DN800mm, DN1000mm, and DN1200mm.

Three. How to choose the right PE corrugated pipe model

Select the appropriate specification of PE corrugated pipe, and the specific model should be determined based on the actual site conditions of the project. However, there are many factors to consider, and as people familiar with PE corrugated pipes know, the primary consideration is the hoop stiffness of the PE corrugated pipe, which refers to the ability to withstand pressure. Therefore, it is very important to determine which hoop stiffness pipe to use. Too high will lead to waste, and too low will cause the pipe to be damaged.

1、PE corrugated pipes are flexible pipes that experience pressure in conjunction with the surrounding soil, a phenomenon known as "pipe-soil interaction." When selecting PE corrugated pipes, it is essential to consider the soil conditions, including its composition, static loads on the ground, and any dynamic loads from vehicular traffic above. The flexibility of the PE corrugated pipe should be determined based on these three factors.

2. Considering the conditions for laying PE ribbed pipes, the laying conditions are also very important, especially under a certain external pressure load. Additionally, the soil conditions around the pipe laying area need to be considered. The soil along the pipe route can also undergo changes, which need to be taken into account.

3. Construction conditions: The installation and construction of the pe wave pipe must adhere to specific requirements and must be carried out according to the specified procedures. Proper construction techniques will also enhance the lifespan of the pipes, while maintaining good performance due to the lower ring stiffness.

4、If the diameter of the PE corrugated pipe is less than 500mm, it is generally recommended to choose a ring stiffness of ≥8KN/㎡. If the geological and construction conditions are confirmed to be good, a ring stiffness of ≥4KN/㎡ can also be selected. If the diameter of the PE corrugated pipe is 500-1200mm, a ring stiffness of ≥8KN/㎡ is required.

5、After the installation of 5P wave pipes, the backfill material will also be a consideration when selecting the model. This includes considering the density of the backfill, with the density of the main areas not being lower than 95%, and the density of sub-areas not being lower than 90%.
