One, there are several methods to connect pph pipes.

If PPH pipe and fittings are not properly welded, it will not only affect the service life of the entire pipe system but also cause issues such as leakage, sputtering, and running. Due to the different types of fittings, the welding methods also vary. Even with the same connection method, the operation during construction differs. There are three connection methods for PPH:

One method involves using a hot-melt welding machine for hot-melt bonding, which is the most common approach.

The second option is the flange connection, but it is necessary to heat-weld the flange head to the pipe or fitting before connecting. Furthermore, this increases the cost of the flange due to the added welding process.

The third method is threaded connection, but this method is rarely used. It is mainly used when connecting PPH with other materials. Threaded connections have poor load-bearing capacity and are only suitable for small-diameter pipes, typically below DN50.

Two. Method for hot-melt joining of pph pipes

1、Direct hot-melt connection

This involves heating the connecting components to achieve a direct heat fusion connection.

2、Thermo-welded connection using embedded and inserted method

PPH pipe's insert-and-sleeve thermal bonding involves inserting the pipe material into both the insert and sleeve ends, heating them to a soft state, and then quickly inserting them. Cooling results in a relatively strong connection. To increase the connection pressure, a sleeve can also be added to the insert and sleeve positions. This thermal bonding method uses specialized tools that are simple and cost-effective, and can be used in any location with a 220V power supply. The connection strength of PPH pipes is also relatively high.

3、Electric Welding Connection

When connecting identical thermoplastic pipes, a specially designed electric welding fitting is inserted. The fitting is then connected to the fitting using an electric welding tool, which provides heat internally through pre-embedded resistance wires, allowing the pipes to fuse together. After cooling, the pipes and fitting become a single unit.

PPH pipe electric welding connections have the following characteristics: easy, fast, high-quality connections, and minimal interference from external factors. Electric welding connections are typically used in locations where other connection methods are restricted, such as those where hot welding is not feasible.
