1. Steps for diatomaceous earth application
1、Mixing
Before application, the diatomaceous earth must be thoroughly mixed. A common method is to add a specific amount of water and diatomaceous earth to a container and allow it to soak for a few minutes before mixing.
The amount of water added must be accurate. It is strictly prohibited to directly pour water into the container by opening the faucet. The amount of water should be determined based on experience. However, due to variations in the water content of each bucket, color differences may occur. During mixing, additional water should be added until the mixture is thoroughly homogeneous before use.
2、Application

After thorough mixing, the product can be applied. When applying the diatomaceous earth background wall, it is generally applied in two coats. The first coat should be applied to a thickness of approximately 1 mm, and after it is no longer sticky, the second coat can be applied. The second coat should be applied to a thickness of approximately 1.5 mm, and the total thickness of the two coats should not exceed 3 mm.
3. Create a textured pattern for the diatomaceous earth background wall.
once the applied diatomaceous earth is completely dry, you can create your desired textured pattern according to your preferences and the specified method. In principle, the possibilities for textured finishes are unlimited. Diatomaceous earth wallboard is similar to paint, and the tools used for application are similar to those used for creating artwork. With imagination and artistic skill, you can freely create textured patterns on the wall.
4、Curing
once the diatomaceous earth surface's textured pattern is complete, it should be firmly pressed and compacted along the pattern's contours.
Two. important considerations for diatomaceous mud application
1、If the substrate exhibits voids or cracks, the first step is to address the underlying issues, such as cleaning and repairing, before applying the putty.
2. If any technical issues arise during construction, immediately contact the manufacturer's technical personnel to visit the site for troubleshooting. This will prevent technical errors and avoid the need for rework.
3. During construction, avoid direct sunlight and intense exposure. Maintain a shaded environment for the construction surfaces.
4、In areas prone to leakage or water penetration, pay close attention. Since silicone-based paint is a water-soluble material, it is not suitable for application in areas directly exposed to water.
5. If there are slight differences in color between the applied silicone-based coating and the previously selected color, this is a normal phenomenon and does not indicate a quality issue.
