1. Thoroughly clean the connection surfaces of the UPVC pipes and fittings with a soft cloth, ensuring they are free from dust, debris, oil, and moisture.
2. Apply adhesive evenly to the connection surfaces of UPVC pipes and fittings (For drainage pipes, you can use drainage adhesive or potable water adhesive. However, when using potable water adhesive, drainage adhesive cannot be used; only potable water adhesive is permitted).
3. Firmly insert the UPVC pipe into the fitting. The UPVC fitting has undergone technical processing during design and production, with the inner end of the fitting being smaller than the outer end. The tighter the fitting is inserted, the stronger the adhesion will be.
4. Wipe away any excess adhesive and complete the installation.
Two. important considerations when installing UPVC pipes.
Due to variations in the specifications and models of fittings and pipes produced by different manufacturers, issues such as over-tightening or over-loosening can occur when connecting fittings and pipes. For example, if a drainage pipe becomes loose, adding a small amount of putty powder to the water can help. However, if the problem occurs with other pipes or fittings, the only solution is to replace the pipe or fitting.
Three. UPVC pipe usage and maintenance
UPVC pipes primarily have three connection types: rubber-to-rubber (R-R), adhesive (T-S), and flange connections. In case of leaks after installation, the pipes can be repaired using methods such as replacement, patch repair with adhesive, fiberglass repair, or welding.
1、For extensive damage to pipe materials, the entire section of pipe should be replaced. The use of double-socket connection components can be used to replace the pipe section.
2. To address leaks at solvent bonding points, the solvent method can be used. First, remove any water from the pipe, and then create a vacuum inside the pipe. Next, apply the adhesive to the pores at the leak location. Due to the vacuum inside the pipe, the adhesive will be drawn into the pores, effectively sealing the leak.
3. The patch and bond method is primarily used for repairing leaks in pipe penetrations and joints. In this case, use pipes with a length of 15~20cm and the same diameter, cut them lengthwise, and then roughen the inner surface of the patch and the outer surface of the pipe to be repaired. Apply adhesive and then tightly fit the patch over the leaking area.
4. The fiberglass method involves mixing epoxy resin with a hardener to create a resin solution, then immersing fiberglass fabric in the resin solution and evenly wrapping it around the surface of the leaking pipe or joint. After curing, it forms fiberglass. Due to its simple construction, easy-to-master technology, excellent leak-stopping effect, and low cost, this method has high potential for promotion and use in leak-proofing and repair.
