One. Does water-based wood paint contain formaldehyde?
Water-based wood paints fall under the category of water-based paints. Water-based paints do not contain formaldehyde. These paints are formulated using water-soluble resins as the film-forming material and synthetic resin emulsions as the film-forming material.
Two. Is water-based wood paint toxic?

Water-based wood paint, primarily composed of acrylic and hard resin, with water as a diluent, is a green and environmentally friendly paint product with extremely low toxicity.
Three. Disadvantages of water-based wood paints
While water-based wood paints are free of formaldehyde and have low toxicity, they are not necessarily perfect coating products. Water-based wood paints still have some drawbacks:
1、Requires high cleanliness
Due to the high surface tension of water, contaminants can easily cause shrinkage and pores in the coating film, requiring high cleanliness standards for both the construction process and the surface of the substrate. The surface of the substrate must be dry, free of dust, oil, and other chemicals.
2、Poor water resistance
Water-based wood coatings primarily use water as a solvent and rely on the volatilization of water and film-forming additives to undergo self-crosslinking and film drying. As a result, water-based wood coatings have poor water resistance and slow drying times.
3、Not to be mixed
Water-based wood paint should be thoroughly mixed before application. During application, avoid the formation of granules. Refer to the specific product's instructions for proper dilution with water to achieve the desired application viscosity. Do not mix with oil-based materials or other paints.
