One、How to construct exterior wall pebble paint.

The quality of exterior stone paint application is not only related to the quality of the exterior stone paint itself, but also to the skill level and construction process of the construction workers. Therefore, when applying exterior stone paint, it is essential to have the correct construction methods and qualified personnel to ensure the quality of the application.

1、Apply a base oil coating:Use a spray gun with a pressure of 4-7 kg/cm², and ensure the temperature does not drop below 10°C during application. Apply two coats with a 2-hour interval between, with a thickness of approximately 30 microns. Allow to dry at room temperature for 12 hours.

2、Apply real stone paint:Select a faux stone paint sprayer with an air pressure of 4-7 kg/cm² and a construction temperature of 10°C or higher. Apply a coating approximately 2-3 mm thick. If applying multiple coats, allow 2 hours of drying time between coats, and 24 hours after the final coat before sanding.

3、Grinding:Use 400-600 grit sandpaper to gently smooth out any protruding sand particles on the faux stone paint surface. Note that excessive force should be avoided, as this can damage the paint film and cause the substrate to loosen. In severe cases, this can lead to poor adhesion and detachment of the faux stone paint.

4、Apply oil coating:Use a spray gun with a pressure of 4-7 kg/cm², apply at a temperature of no less than 10°C, apply two coats with a 2-hour interval, and a thickness of approximately 30 microns. Complete drying requires 7 days.

II. Construction Process for Real Stone Paint

1、Construction surface requirements

(1) First, use cement mortar to smooth the exterior wall, and then allow it to cure for at least 28 days. After curing, apply a layer of plaster, ensuring a smooth and even surface, but avoid excessive smoothness or overly sharp edges.

(2) Before commencing construction, the concrete surface or the coated surface must be free of moss, oil, or other contaminants. If any contaminants are present, they must be completely removed, as this will affect the adhesion of the paint. Additionally, the substrate must be thoroughly dry.

(3) If the substrate has noticeable unevenness, use exterior wall putty to level it.

2、Substrate Preparation

All coated surfaces require a primer and sealant to prevent color bleeding and moisture penetration, which can damage genuine stone paints. The primer must be applied. Additionally, masking tape should be applied to the areas where it is required.

3、Application of genuine stone paint

(1) once the primer is completely dry, you can apply exterior stone paint. When applying, the thickness should be between 1-3 millimeters, and 2-3 coats should be applied. The construction interval between coats should be at least 24 hours, and the air pressure should be 6-8 kPa.

(2) When applying exterior stone paint, it is necessary to completely isolate the areas not to be painted using newspaper or tape. The painted surface must match the appearance of the sample, and the paint consumption is generally around 3-5 kg/㎡.

4、Remove tape

After applying exterior stone paint, remove the tape carefully. Ensure that the removal process does not affect the coating's edge profile. When removing the tape, pull it upwards as much as possible, rather than pulling it forward. Also, remove the protective paper.

5、Sanding

Before applying the topcoat to exterior textured paint, it is recommended to smooth any sharp-edged particles on the textured paint surface, which will enhance the aesthetic appeal of the exterior textured paint, reduce sharpness, and prevent dust accumulation.

6. Apply topcoat finish

once the exterior stone paint has fully cured, you can apply a transparent topcoat using a roller. Be sure to apply it evenly and avoid drips or overspray. The recommended paint usage is 0.2 kg/㎡ or more.
